I am having the same problem with itunes. This is such a maze. I feel very discouraged as I pay fifteen dollars a month for credit card protection.

Same thing just happened to me. I am so baffled as to how these people got my iTunes info. I’m usually pretty careful with it.

I will hope that my bank responds as yours did. That’s pretty rough, my goodness. I can happily say at least, Apple has reactivated my account with a new password so my Itunes works again. It turns out my Itunes account was hacked and the person changed all of my information, so I wouldn’t get noticing of the products being purchased, then had fun buying a bunch of crap. When my account was restored it still had the purchase history, so I can at least see what the person bought and it was a bunch of Chinese dictionaries and stuff. When I saw that I knew for sure that my account had been compromised somehow. Obviously, the first sign was the charges that made no sense, the second was not being able to access my own account, so this just confirmed it all.

I had the same thing happen to me two years ago to the tune of about three grand. The thieves in this case had gotten hold of my debit card number (which I never use online — no idea how they got it) and charged a few plane tickets in Europe. My bank immediately refunded the money and set to work on the fraud charges. I did a bit of paperwork and everything was done. They canceled the card and reissued a new one (which I also never use online). Like you, I was really pleased with how everything was handled even though it sucked being out of the money for awhile.

lol it was in reference to the comment I left on his/her blog. She was talking about the Olympics so I said I was rooting for someone who was competing against his/her country.
