I’ve Been Breached. You Could Be Too. 4

I had intended to write a different post for my next post relating to my writing and my great experience with my editor, but that will have to wait until another day. I am writing now because my credit card has been used to purchase a large number of items through Apple Itunes and has wracked up over 300 dollars in fraudulent charges to my checking account.

I discovered something was amiss when I was looking at my finances to plan my budget for the next couple of weeks and noticed a small charge to Itunes. This seemed a little odd because I had a gift card attached to my account the last time I used it, over a month ago, and I had money remaining on my account, so it made no sense I would be charged anything to my bank statement. After looking more closely I saw that there were multiple other charges still pending that were much, much larger than the original sum of roughly 4 dollars.

Obviously that raised a red flag, so I googled the telephone number attached to the charges and the first thing that popped up was “Beware Apple Itunes Fraud.” As you can imagine, more than a few cuss words then followed. Read the rest of this entry »

Friends are Great

Not too long ago, within two weeks, I got an amazing surprise in the mail. A brand new camera. Not just any camera, but a NICE one. A Rebel T1i, which was just for me. I was not expecting this camera at all, although I did hear from Miss Me that I was getting one, she was able to trick me into believing she was not telling the truth about 3 days later. I believed her.

Needless to say, I was shocked and floored when it came in the mail. I am quite sure my mouth was hanging open and I was unable to talk for a few minutes.  It was a gift from a mutual friend of mine and Miss Me’s, who for whatever reason,  decided to give me a gift that is pretty awesome. I am very thankful and have since used up all of my bandwidth at Flickr within about three days.

This same friend often listens to me bicker and whine when things don’t go quite my way, which is awfully nice of her. She’s also very brutally honest, so she generally tells me to STFU and get over myself, which in most cases, is exactly what I need to do. So, thanks for that too. Read the rest of this entry »

Relax 4

Oh, what a great weekend it was. I got to actually relax for once. I even got to spend some time with my nieces and nephews, who are, at times, just a great bunch of kids, but of course, they are sometimes a pain in the butt too. :) Generally speaking they are all pretty good though.

Of course, we had Valentine’s Day this weekend, so I hope it went well for everyone. Mine was enjoyable, I got to spend some time chatting with the most amazing woman in my life, Meagan. See my previous post, “Waking From The Dream” to get a better idea of just how great she is! We’re a very long distance relationship, well, multiple states away, which is less than countries, I suppose, but still. Anyway, So I was thrilled to have time with her and enjoyed the time and conversation we had together very much. Read the rest of this entry »

Waking From The Dream 3

I’ve dreamed of finding a woman who I felt understands me; in a way fills in the voids I have felt in my life, encourages me to be better, yet loves me for who I am, and is patient with me as I stumble. A woman who brightens my day just by being in my life, makes me smile and laugh with delight at the simple thought of her. A woman who brings a bit of magic into my heart, a tingle that ignites a spark, where every day is a good one.

A woman who will stick with me through the ups and the downs, smile at me as I frown, turning me all around, making me think anew. Laughter fills my soul, I cannot help but smile, a woman so amazing that the earth shakes as we collide, fostering brilliantly a cosmic array, reaching through the past and far away, a woman who calms the fears, puts aside the tears and loves me through it all. Dear Super Bowl

Every year people get excited to watch you and I am no different. I enjoy the experience of watching two of the country’s best sports teams compete for the title, but I do not understand why it is that year after year your half time show is featuring out of date musicians. Sure, they were amazing in the past, but this years, The Who, looks around the age of 80, and granted their music is okay, I am certain someone like Beyonce or some other more modern musician could have put on a much more powerful and energizing performance than some old men who barely move on the stage and rely completely on flashing lights for their show.

Thanks.

Glimpse

Sleep, eyes wide open,
Wondering, thinking, dreaming away,
Persistent with delight, Pondering Life.

Pressuring the mind to evolve,
Yet Stumbling, Trying to Understand,
Growth within, Emotions Flurry,

Shaking tradition, Moving Forward,
Life unfolds, Generating Wealth,
Pockets Empty, Hearts Swell,

Pulsing Pleasure, Sensations Last,
Until the night does pass, Then to Memories,
Forever entwined, A Smile on the faces.

Self Deposition

Time flies when you’re having fun, so here’s a post! Missed a few days that I intended on posting, my bad. :O Enjoy!

Self Deposition

Jason’s eyes blinked in an odd repetition of nervousness. He did not want to believe he was where he was. Those simple little words would stick in his mind for the rest of his life; “…is guilty.” He screamed. He had only hit the man twice. He didn’t mean to kill him.

The air around him was cold, and the steel bench he sat on began to make him ache. Jason looked around the room, still blinking, as he clenched his hands. Sweat made his fingers slide across his palms with ease, making it harder to for the inch-long, serrated edges of his nails to dig in. His veins began to surge from the tightness in his forearms. Head Sprung

Oh, what a night and a day. I went to bed right on time and was ready to sleep, but unfortunately, my dogs lost their minds and would not leave me alone all night long. I don’t think I got any sleep at all barely and I still have no idea what was wrong with them. They were acting very odd and as if they were scared of something, but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what. All i know is that they wanted my attention and refused to just lay down and sleep until about 7am this morning.

I am fortunate that my job allows me to sleep in a little longer than most people’s does on some days, so that could have worked to my advantage, but today my loving, beautiful, sweet girlfriend decided to wake me up an hour earlier than I was planning, so there went the little extra sleep. It’s okay, if I am going to be woken up early, I would prefer that it be from her. At least she puts a smile on my face. Of course, I thought it was an emergency at first, Read the rest of this entry »

It Came, Then The Rest Followed

Finally, after quite a little dry spell a story came to my mind and was completed within the same day. I cannot even begin to explain how good it felt to write again. It’s been far too long and I must admit, I was concerned in my ability to write a work of fiction anymore. (I write a ton of real life stuff, letters, opinions, etc., but not much fiction as of late.)

I did it though. It was just as I remembered, my mind racing with ideas, my fingers banging against the keyboard as words formed to describe what I was imagining in my head. The ideas coming together faster than I could type, changing as the story progressed until I had a final ending. It felt good. Really good. I won’t go as far as saying it was better than sex, but it was quite fulfilling, like seeing an old friend you haven’t spoke with in ages and catching up.

It was certainly a part of me that had been missing for far too long. It had been years before now since I had finished a story. I have started a number of them, some I hope to continue to work on, others forever lost. One such story I began a few years ago and slowly was working on, but that was before I had my own laptop. I had to use my parents, as they generously lent it to me, until they needed it for playing movies for the nieces and nephews on a trip downstate. Read the rest of this entry »

The Destruction in Haiti

As most people know, Haiti was hit by an earthquake which completely devastated the country. People are struggling to live, over 50,000 people died and the country is basically in ruins. Now is the time where people of all cultures should come together to help those in need. I received an email asking for my donation from former Vice President Al Gore’s non-profit organization, Repower America, so I figure I would recommend donating through Oxfam America too. Here is what they have to say about the situation and about donating:

“A major earthquake has struck Haiti’s capital city of Port-Au-Prince. It is a catastrophe of major proportions. Multiple buildings have collapsed, including a hospital, a hotel, and the UN building.

Oxfam has over three decades of experience in Haiti, and we have rushed in teams from around the region to respond to the situation where our assistance is most needed. We are providing clean water, shelter and sanitation and helping people recover – your donation will go immediately to the most critical needs in Haiti, and we will ensure that every penny is used wisely.”

If you wish to donate now, please go there now by clicking this link.
